- Goat Life Movie Introduction:
Aadujeevitham – Goat Life is a 2024 Malayalam survival drama film written, directed and co-produced by Blessy. It is an adaptation of Benyamin’s 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham. Which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayalam migrant worker.
One of the thousands of Indians forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia as goats on isolated farms IN. deserted by the local Arabs. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jimmy Jean-Louis and K. R. Gokul in the lead roles, with Talib Al Balushi, Rik Aby, Amala Paul and Shobha Mohan in supporting roles.
Goat Life Movie, Which Could have been Great:
First of all, Goat Life movie must be seen in theaters. The cinematography, transition scenes, desert and Kerala parts are all very well shot. Secondly, Prithviraj played very well. I always saw him as a mechanic, he says his words and plays his part, but in the second half of the movie he becomes Najib.
The supporting roles are also good, especially the Arabs. However, the problem with the film is that although it is a very emotional story, Blessy fails to create those emotions. I mean, the movie is called Life of a Goat, but even though Najeeb has lived there for three years, the scene where he says goodbye to the goats doesn’t evoke emotion and is rushed.
Also, many flashback scenes, while cute, fail to save later and Sainu and Najeeb’s relationship becomes more of an afterthought. Blessy could have used this time to show Najib’s relationship with animals. Also, the music and score were a big let down. This does nothing to elevate the scenes and makes many scenes flat.
Rahman needs to come out of his glory days and update himself. Finally, the film could be explored from a philosophical perspective, but Blessy ignores this and delivers a completely shallow film with limited emotional connection and zero layers or meaning. This could have been a great movie, but still a good effort. I’m a little disappointed as a viewer, because given the time invested, I was expecting a masterpiece.

The Goat Life Movie Casting:
Suriya was initially considered and chosen for the role of Najeeb and Blessy was discussed with him. But he gave up acting due to his busy schedule and previous commitments. Prithviraj agreed to do the film while filming Pokkiri Raja (2010) in 2008. Najeeb Muhammad from Benyamin’s novel is partially based on Najeeb’s real-life experiences.
Prithviraj stated that although he is not a religious person, Najib has a strong focus on faith. There is a physical, psychological and spiritual journey for the character. For three years, he interacts more with animals than with people, thus “becoming” one of them.
For the role of Najeeb, Blessy wanted an actor who could devote at least 1.5 years to the film, to which Prithviraj agreed. Prithviraj had to gain and lose weight to see Najeeb’s physical transformation on screen, he gained up to 98 kilograms to play the character in the opening sequences of the film with a rounded belly and had lose weight to 67 kilograms.
The end of the movie. After losing 31 kilograms, Prithviraj said he was following an unhealthy diet, which he did not recommend anyone to follow. He passed out while shooting a scene. There was always a doctor on the set.
Movie Song:
Goat Life Song of Hope embodies a familiar Rahman pattern, one that I sincerely hope Rahman surpasses in the near future. It is a composition that radiates positivity, conveying a message of hope. Through a mixture of motivational and unifying lyrics in a background of cheerful music.
I mean, I found nothing wrong with the idea itself. And the song is neither terrible nor bad. Although Hope Song does not inherently lack hope for a place on the album, for me this song stands out as a bit wrong.. Beyond the melody and lyrics, Rahman’s compositions convey a message.
An atmosphere and an experience that lingers in the mind long after the last note has faded. And I’m sure I’ll return to the album many times after seeing the film. For those looking for a richer connection not only with the music but also with the stories it tells, The Goat Life: Aadujeevitham is a musical expedition not to be missed.
